PANJIM: Fr Agnel Boys and St Xavier girls emerged champions in 3rd All-Goa inter-collegiate futsal championship organised by Don Bosco Oratory, at Fr Benedict Furtado indoor stadium, DBO, here, Saturday.
In the girls final, St Xavier, Mapusa defeated Government College, Quepem 3 – 0 with a brace by Preeti Shinde while the third goal deflected off a rival player. Michel Constanho played well to give the Xavierites a tough time.
In the boy’s final, Fr Agnel, Pilar clinched the title with a 9-2 victory over Dempo College. Fr Agnel’s goalkeeper, Presley Fernandes did a splendid job. Vikram Bilekar scored five goals while Andrew D’Mello and Devraj Hirekurbar scored a brace each for the winners.
Fr Avin Carvalho, Principal of Don Bosco College, Panjim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes. The guests of honour were Fr Kimrold D’Melo; Savio D’Souza and Andrew Cardozo.
