PANJIM: Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club defeated Chandor Club in an eight-goal thriller in the Goa Football Associations Third Division League match played at Curtorim ground, on Tuesday.
Joy Fernandes opened the scoring for Fr Agnel YSC and soon doubled the lead in the 28th minute.
Chandor’s Jhon Dias narrowed the margin in the 35th minute to keep them in contention, however, Sezwin Fernandes score for Fr Agnel to make it 3-1 at half time.
Post resumption, Joy netted his third goal while Sezvin completed his brace for Fr Agnel YSC.
Chandor Club scored two quick goals through Rostan Rodrigues but failed to find the equaliser as the match ended 5-3 in favour of Fr Agnel YSC.
In another match at Raia ground, Arlem Youth Association Club and Gloria Sports Club played an exciting 4-4 draw.
Bernardo Silveira, Malroy Dias, J Fernandes and Anthony Dias scored for Gloria SC while Jamito Pango scored a brace, john Colaco and Joe Pango scored a goal each for Arlem YA.
At artificial turf ground, Carmel Sports Club thrashed Enfermos SC 5-1.
The half time score was 2-1 in favour of the winners. Laxman Tappa scored a hat trick while Danstan Fernandes netted a brace for Carmel SC. Warren Fernandes scored a consolation goal for Enfermos SC.
Elsewhere at Chapora ground, ABC Arambol defeated Chapora Yuvak Sangh 2-0. Gladston Cardozo and Simon Dsouza scored a goal each for the winners.
Goan Warriors blanked Milagres Sports Club 3-0, at Anjuna ground.
Akshay, Dishay and Pundalik Naik scored a goal each for the Goan Warriors.
