CAVELOSSIM: Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda, playing a fast paced game, outmaneuvered Sporting Club of Davorlim 3-1, to move into the quarterfinals of Cavelossim Villagers UK CUP Inter-Village Football Tournament organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim and played at Fr Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim on Tuesday.
Paroda ‘s outstanding player Cyril Dias drew the first blood when he cleverly chipped the ball into the open net, when keeper Vensan Figueredo had moved forward in a one to one situation.
Cyril Dias could have doubled the lead, when his long range power packed shot struck the woodwork and bounced back into play. However, Cyril Dias made amends when he cleverly dribbled past two defenders to score his second goal of the match before the lemon time.
In the second half Davorlim mounted pressure, but Paroda defenders stood their ground.
In a counter attack, Joel Furtado scored with a powerful header to make it 3-0 for Paroda. Davorlim scored a consolation goal through Paxton Gomes at the fag end of the match.
