PANJIM: Fredsan Marshall and Aditi Rajesh Patil grabbed individual honours in the Men’s and Women’s categories respectively while Dempo Shipbuilding emerged as the top corporate team at the Linc Tower Run 2016, at EDC’s Patto Plaza, on Sunday.
Other prize winners included Narayan Zantye College (top student team) and Vishwanath Shetye and group (top group) while Madhushri Shrikant Joshi and Suraj Bind were winners in the Women’s and Men’s categories in the vertical sprint (one building only). The event was organized by CII, Yi and Adventure Breaks.
The event was flagged off by FC Goa football stars Laxmikant Kattimani and Romeo Fernandes in the presence of Linc Properties CEO, Prakash Jalan; CII Goa Chairman, Parag Joshi and Yi Goa Chairman, Nitin Desai.
Altogether 450 participants ran 840 steps, up and 840 steps down across five buildings, competing in three events and bagging prizes in seven categories.
EDC’s Patto plaza had a festival atmosphere with a focus on health as each race was interspersed by performances. Talwalkar’s HiFi led a warm-up exercise session while Cheryl’s zumba troupe and a Krau Maga self defence techniques demonstration were held.
The results are as follows. Individual Men: 1st Fredsan Marshall, 2nd Suraj Bind, 3rd Krishna Parsenkar. Individual Women: 1st Aditi Patil, 2nd Parnika Bansode, 3rd Siddhi Pawar.
Veteran Men: 1st Kanhaiya Vernekar, 2nd Vishwanath Shetye, 3rd Sanjay Bhosale. Veteran Women: 1st Alexandra Von Moltke, 2nd Geeta Anand.
Student Boys: 1st Shivam Borkar, 2nd Venkatesh Malagimani, 3rd Amardeep Popkar. Student Girls: 1st Harleen Kaur, 2nd Verada Surve, 3rd Nadia Dias.
Corporate teams: 1st Dempo Shipbuilding, 2nd Kineco Kaman Composites, Fire Services.
Group teams: 1st Vishwanath Shetye & team, 2nd Shambhu Kamat & team, Law Warriors.
