In total, 50 girls and boys participated in the fun filled event where every child played their hearts out in five small sided matches, at Chowgule futsal court, Gogal, here, recently.
The teams were divided equally and named as follows in each category. U-6: Pink Panthers and Orange Kangaroos. U-8: Yellow Minions, Purple Butterflies and Orange Nemos.
U-10: Light Blue Dolphins, Dark Blue Whales, Green Turtles, Orange Tigers and Yellow Lions.
Men’s and women’s category events were also held for parents with their kids cheering enthusiastically. Wendham Grey provided everyone with a spectacular juggling act with clubs and knifes.
Rommel De Souza was the chief guest and gave away individual trophies to Ishan Naik, Darius Fernandes, Samuel Dsouza, Sahil Neurenkar, Yohann Sousa, Obaid Shaik, Caleb Nick Fernandes and Nathan Furtado for best performances of the day and the practice sessions in the month leading up to the tournament. Best parent player in men went to Gaurish Lad and while Nadia Bacchilega walked away with the prize in the women’s event. Rommel also presented a certificate and medal to each participant.
Youth Futsal Academy is chalking up plans to start a parents club and also batches in U-16 and U-18 category for which a minimum number of 30 students need to be enrolled.
