G Angel face Immaculate

MARGAO, SEPT 3
Guardian Angel High School, Curchorem will meet Immaculate Conception High School, Avedem, Paroda in the finals of Quepem Taluka U-14 inter-school football at Tilamol Panchayat ground, Quepem.
In the first semi-final, Guardian Angel registered a hard fought 1-0 win over Our Lady Mother of Poor High School, Tilamol. The all-important goal was scored by Desvil Fernandes.
Guardian Angel came close to increasing the lead but Sweeden Pereira’s snap shot missed the target narrowly.
In the other semi-final, Immaculate Conception, recorded a hard fought 3-2 win over Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem. Immaculate Conception led 1-0 at half time.
Immaculate Conception  surged ahead when Jolliton Dias bulged the net.
 Schubert Dias doubled the lead. Pope John intensified their attack and their persistent forays paid off when Rin Joy Fernandes punished the rival goalkeeper.  Pope John’s Jostan Costa restored parity midway in the second half.  Harshad Dessai struck the match-winner.
