MARGOA: Gauncar High Secondary School, Raia were crowned south Goa handball champions, after defeating Shiroda HSS by a huge margin of 22-6 goals in the South Goa District final, played at PJN Stadium, at Fatorda, recently.
Mustafa Shaikh was the highest scorer for Gouncar HSS with 13 goals to his credit and was well assisted by Racton with four goals and Vijay Tete with three goals. Krishna was the lone outstanding player for the Shiroda team.
Tulshidas Dessai TSO (South) was the chief guest for the final and gave away certificates to the winners and runners-up.
