MERCES: Gaunchem Bhatt B outplayed Temba 5-4 in the Pogo Boys Cup organised by Pogo Boys, at Our Lady of Merces church ground, on Tuesday.
Alan Nazareth scored the first goal for Gaunchem Bhatt. Kenneth brought Temba on equal terms. Macberth D’Mello header off a set-piece to make it 2-1 for Gaunchem Bhatt.
Kenneth managed to keep his side in the hunt as he scored his brace.
Navin scored another for Gaunchem Bhatt to make it 3-2.
Macberth completed his brace with a good strike to increase the deficit to 4-2. From there on it was an all out assault as Blythe Joao scored to made it 5-2 for Gauchem Bhatt. However, Temba refused to give up as Francisco Vaz reduced the margin to make it 5-3. Anthony Baretto scored to make it 5-4 but his side were unfortunate at the end of regulation time despite the urgency shown in the final minutes of the game.
