PANJIM: An unbeaten half century by Gauresh Parab guided Goa Sports Academy to score a seven-wicket victory over Mahalaxmi Cricket Club to advance into next round of Bandodkar Knock Out T20 Trophy 2014 cricket tournament, organised by Panjim Gymkhana at Bandodkar ground, Campal, Panjim, on Monday.
Mahalaxmi Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat to score 101 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs. Vinod Wilson 22, Prajesh Parab 19, Dattesh Priolkar 15 n.o., Pramod Naik 13, Prasad Halankar 10 n.o. top scored. Atul Phadte 3/15,
Akhil Shetye 3/20, Sameer Chodankar 2/17 and Achit Sigwan 1/23 bowled well for Goa SA .
In their reply, Goa Sports Academy managed to score the winning total 102, losing three wickets in 15.4 overs. Gauresh Parab was the highlight of the day as he scored half century and remained not out at 64. He was ably supported by
Atul Phadte 17 n.o. and Sameer Chodankar 11. Tek Bahadur 1/9, Vinod Wilso 1/24 and Prasad Halankar 1/27 were the wicket takers for Mahalaxmi Cricket Club.
