PANJIM: Gauri Hadkonkar, Riddhi Zantye, Supriya Shanbag, Sakshi Naik Gaonkar, Charuta Shetye, Neha Upadhye, Gunjal Chopdekar, Aishwarya Thorat, Aditee Prabhugaonkar, Reema Naik, Urvi Bandekar and Sehal Chodankar are on two points each after the end of the second round of Tarcar memorial women’s state chess championship organised by JCI St Inez under the aegis of Goa Chess Association in collaboration with SAG at SAG Indoor Stadium Conference Hall, Campal, here, Wednesday.
Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by Goan chess wizard Ivana Furtado in the presence of chief arbiter D.R. Pinge, arbiters Gautam Tari and Avinash Malvankar, Eli Furtado, top seed Gauri Hadkonkar and co-ordinator Sandeep Heble.
In all, 50 players are participating in the championship which is a selection tournament for the National Women’s Chess Challengers Championship to be held at Thrissur, Kerala.
