PANJIM: Geno scored 329 for 7 against Salgaoncar on day one of the first semi-final of the Goa Premier League, at Goa Cricket Academy, Porvorim, on Tuesday.
Geno won the toss and elected to bat. Sangram Atitkar and Prathmesh Gawas opened the batting for Geno. Sangram scored 53 runs of 68 balls before being sent back to the pavilion by Amit Yadav while Prathamesh was bowled out for 21 runs.
The skipper Sagun Kamat went on to score 106 off 122 balls. Rahul Keni fell short of 5 runs to score a half-century as he was dismissed by Amit Yadav.
The Salgaocar bowlers put in a decent performance as Umar Nazir scalped 3 wickets while Amit Yadav picked up 2 wickets.
Meanwhile in the second semi-final held at Goa Cricket Academy, Sanguem, Chowgule were bundled out for 210 against Dempo. Chowgule won the toss and elected to bat.
The team got off to a bad start as Tunish Sawkar was bowled out for a duck while Mohit Sharma just scored 9 off 22 balls before being sent back to the pavilion. It was the skipper Samar Dubhashi who managed to score 53 off 129 balls who gave his side a decent total.
The Dempo bowlers managed to take wickets at regular intervals which restricted the Chowgule side from getting a huge scoreline. Darshan Misal managed to pick up a 5 wicket-haul while Lakshay Garg and Vinay Choudhary scalped 2 wickets each.
At stumps, Dempo scored 40 for 2 with Achit (18) and Harshad (4) at the crease.
