GFA celebrate Women’s Football Day

PANJIM: The Goa Football Association (GFA) observed GFA Women’s Football Day as part of the International Women’s Day with celebrations at four venues – Duler Stadium in Mapusa; Navelim church ground; Rosary High School, Dona Paula and Chicalim involving girls and women to celebrate womanhood, the day being dedicated for the promotion and development of women’s football.
At Duler Stadium, an exhibition match was played between Panjim Footballers and FC Goa wherein the Panjim side won 3-0. 
At Rosary ground, Navelim, Churchill Brothers SC beat Ambelim SC 4-1.
 Various activities were held including quiz on football at Mary Immaculate Girls High School and Our Lady of Rosary High School, Dona Paula. Girls and women were taken to the football pitch to mark the annual day under the banner of GFA’s Women’s Committee at various venues across Goa.  
They were given a chance to kick the ball with small side games and tie-breaker contest. 
Programmes and competitions were also held at Velsao and Cansaulim.
