GFA condoles the death of Dr Wilfred

PANJIM: On behalf of the entire football fraternity of Goa, the Goa Football Association offered its sincerest condolences to the family members of Dr Wilfred de Souza, ex-Chief Minister of Goa who passed away on Friday morning.

The president of Goa Football Association, Elvis Gomes observed, Dr Wilfred de Souza, a double FRCS, was much sought all over the World and he could have worked anywhere. But h­e chose to come back home to Goa. And as a doctor he always served the people with compassion; even conducting emergency operations while being CM. As the Chief Minister, Dr Wilfred gave his unstinted support and backing to all the activities of the Goa Football Association, and actively encouraged football players and football initiatives.”
In view of the passing away of Dr Wilfred, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of the departed soul at all GFA organised matches.
