PANJIM: GFA’s football referee Sunil Nanodkar filed a complaint with the Anjuna Police on Tuesday alleging that he had received a life-threatening call from an unknown number over some of his decisions during the GFA’s Second Division match between Vagator Parish Youth Club and Chapora Yuwak Sangh played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Monday.
It was Chapora who fought gallantly to come back from three goals down to hold 10-men Vagator. The match ended in a 3-3 draw.
The referee did not take lightly the alleged delaying tactics adopted by Vagator asking the players not to indulge in time wasting tactics yesterday. And, they received a jolt when Vagator’s Godwin was given the marching orders in the 64th minute, after being shown the yellow card for rough play. It is learnt that most of the Vagator players are from the South and the referee pointed out that the call was from someone from Vagator.
