GFA suspend players, manager

PANJIM: The Goa Football Association on Monday suspended two players and a manager after their rash on field behaviour during the GFA Second Division League encounter, held on Saturday.

AA de Moira and Portais SCwitnessed a heated battle that saw three players receive marching orders in their 4-4 draw.
A A de Moira’s Akshay Dhabolkar and Portais SC’s Elton Godinho received straight red cards for their harsh behaviour in the First Division match. GFA suspended both the players along with A A de Moira Team Manager Marshall D’Mello for the unsporting behaviour.
“Registered football clubs with Goa Football Association, match officials, tournament organisers and all concerned are requested to take note that Akshay Dhabolkar and Marshall D’Mello, football player and manager of A A de Moira respectively, and Elton Godinho, football player for Portais Sporting Club are suspended from all football related activities organised and/ or recognised by Goa Football Association with immediate effect,” said GFA in a statement on Monday.
