PANJIM: GFA President Churchill Alemao wasted no time in his effort ‘to bridge the gap’ between the association and other sporting and government bodies as he met Sports Authority of Goa Executive Director V M Prabhudesai on Wednesday, at SAG office.
The move was greatly appreciated by Prabhudesai who welcomed the GFA president saying, “Nice to see GFA at the SAG after four years”.
Churchill didn’t waste much time as he spoke about the back log of funds between the two sporting bodies to which the Executive Director assured to clear the matter at the earliest.
“The bills are in the account session and we will have to check them. We will try to resolve it at the earliest,” said Prabhudesai.
Availability of grounds being the issue, Churchill asked Prabhudesai to provide them the facilities at a basic nominal fee rather than the full ground booking cost, which was being charged in the past.
Prabhudesai assured Churchill he would consider the request and stated that he would bring more clarity on the subject in coming days.

He also assured GFA of providing SAG coaches on request at any given point to help clubs in the villages and other areas to avail maximum support and facilities from the government.
“Our coaches are always available for the sport. We would just need a letter of request as and when its needed and the demand shall be met,” said Prabhudesai.
