PANJIM: The Goa Football Association (GFA) will be conducting a new referees course on weekends, starting from June 1, 2024. This course offers referees the opportunity to officiate in GFA leagues, with potential promotions to officiate at All-India tournaments such as the ISL and I-League, and eventually becoming International Referees.
Recently, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has begun recruiting full-time professional elite referees on contract, offering a remuneration of approximately Rs 80,000 per month. The GFA also intends to provide training on the laws of the game to referees who may not progress further in their careers.
The GFA has requested all affiliated clubs to encourage players and recommend at least two candidates for this course.
