PANJIM: Football players, referees and officials registered with Goa Football Association (GFA) have been requested not to participate in unrecognized football tournaments and events taking place in Goa and other states, failing which they will be liable for disciplinary action including ban and fine.
The GFA in a press note stated that there were several queries if a 9-a-side tournaments and all –Goa football league, all-India nine-a –side events were recognized tourneys. Consequently, the GFA clarified that these were not approved either by the GFA or the AIFF and those found participating in unrecognized events would be liable for strict disciplinary action.
