GFA writes to CAC over pending dues

PANJIM: Though much water has flowed since the euphoria after Goa beat Mozambique in the Lusofonia Games 2014 to be the gold medallists, Goa Football Association lamented that the winning team has not relented in pursuing the elusive Rs 10 lakh which was due as reimbursement for the preparation of the team.
GFA President Elvis Gomes on Wednesday wrote a letter to the three-member Cabinet Advisory Committee of ministers seeking its intervention in paying the legitimate dues.
Elvis said that this would be the last attempt before approaching the High Court seeking an investigation into the whole issue.
“It’s absurd. GFA’s former president encashed fixed deposits to make payments and now the SAG has refused to reimburse. GFA is at loss to understand how a gold medallist gets treated in the State,” stated Elvis in a press release.
It may be recalled that a delegation of GFA members had also met the sports minister in the recent past which did yield any result.
