PANJIM: Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) organised a one day program across all its centres to celebrate the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Grassroots Day on May 15.
Trainees went through various stations which included ball control, juggling, passing, dribbling, 4 v 4, 8 v 8 and fun games. There were also football matches organised at the centres in the U-10 and U-13 categories respectively.
Parents of the participants also turned up to support their children during the fun-filled events being organised at their respective centres.
GFDC Chairman Dr Rufino Monteiro exalted his players at the Corlim and Marcel centre during his quick visits. He requested the trainees to take maximum opportunity from their training and practice hard, “On this day grassroots day is celebrated across entire Asia. If we need good players they will come out from here only and hence we have to give importance to the commemoration of this day.”
