PANJIM: Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) inaugurated its second Associate Football Centre (15th centre overall) at Shiroda panchayat ground, on Friday.
The inauguration was done at the hands of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on the occasion of the birthday of Industries Minister Mahadev Naik, in the presence of Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and GFDC Chairman Dr. Rufino Monteiro and other GFDC members Bramhanand Shankwalkar and Agnelo Fonseca.
120 students from around the vicinity have already enrolled at the Centre and will be training by two qualified football coaches.
GFDC is also aligning with the South Africa Football Association Development Agency (SAFDA) for the development of football in Goa which will serve as a boon to to the young footballers of Shiroda and Goa as well.
