PANJIM: The 5th Edition of the GFDC Rising Star Football Festival kicked off and matches are being played across various centres in right earnest.
GFDC Valpoi breezed past GFDC Zarme, 3-2 in the U-10 boys match held at Hathwada ground, Valpoi, on Monday.
In the 8th minute, Anmesh Majik opened the tally for GFDC Zarme and couple of minutes later, Tafail Khan scored the equalizer. Before half-time Zarme took the lead through Anmess Majik, 2-1. In injury time, Ashaz Aba made it 2-2.
Crossing over, Vaughan scored the match winner for GFDC Valpoi.
In the U-13 girls’ match, GFDC Zarme got the better of GFDC Valpoi via tie-breaker, 4-3. At full time, the score was a goalless draw and hence the tie-breaker was applied.
While in the U-12 boys match at the same ground, GFDC Valpoi registered a 2-0 win against GFDC Zarme.
At Divar ground, GFDC Divar defeated GFDC Mayem, 1-0 in the U-12 boys’ match. The lone goal scorer in the match was Yuvraj Hundre.
