MLA Mickey Pacheco inaugurated the centre in the presence of Goa Football Development Council chairman Dr Rufino Monterio, general manager of Alila Diwa Siddarth Savkur, Fr Jessoin Almieda. People from all three villages gathered in large numbers. Among them was India goalkeeping coach Marcus Pacheco, Anthony John D Costa, Roque Dias, Nelly Rodriques and other dignitaries. Over 130 children enrolled in the center.
The centre will function by a five member committee comprising of Albino d’ Costa (chairman), Anjulo Fernandes, Francis Morais (United Club of Utorda ), Ligorio Braganza (AA de Majorda), Jose Fernandes Sultan (St Roque Sports Club, Calata) and coaches Joaquim Fernandes and Lynette Vaz.
Earlier, Agnelo Pereira, president of United Club of Utorda welcomed while secretary Trindade Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
