PANJIM: Ghumteshwar CC and Pappu XI booked their places in the last eight stage of the 11th Babu Brothers All Goa T-20 cricket tournament, organised by Babu Brothers Sports Association at Sports Authority of Goa practice ground, Fatorda.
As Kamuli United not reported at the venue – Ghumteshwar Warriors were given walk-over.
In the second match, Pappu XI defeated title aspirants SKC Warriors by 34 runs. Batting first, Pappu XI scored 148 for 6 in allotted 20 overs. Sufiyan Alam was the top scorer with 78 runs.
In reply, SKC Warriors inning was dismissed in 114 runs. (Pushpshil Desai (40) impressed with the bad for SKC Warriors.
Sufiyan Mulla took 3 wickets giving away just 25 runs and was adjudged as the Man-of-the-Match.
Anil Naik (3-18) was the other impressive bowler while Tushar Narvekar (1-11) and Raje Jagdale (1-21) were the other wicket takers.
