Ghumteshwar Warriors defend T20 title

MARGAO: Powered by Man-of-the-Match, Suraj Dongre’s blistering 59-run knock and a five wicket haul by Suyash Prabhudesai, Ghumteshwar Warriors defended their crown as they got the better of Badem Sports Club to emerge winners of the 6th Babu Brothers All-Goa T20 Cricket tournament, organized by Babu Brothers Sports Association, at SAG practice ground, here, recently.

MARGAO: Powered by Man-of-the-Match, Suraj Dongre’s blistering 59-run knock and a five wicket haul by Suyash Prabhudesai, Ghumteshwar Warriors defended their crown as they got the better of Badem Sports Club to emerge winners of the 6th Babu Brothers All-Goa T20 Cricket tournament, organized by Babu Brothers Sports Association, at SAG practice ground, here, recently. 
Batting first, Ghumteshwar Warriors scored 168/7 in 20 overs.
In reply, Badem SC were bowled out for 138 runs.
Ghumteshwar Warriors were richer by Rs 75,000 and a trophy while Badem SC had to be content with Rs 35,000. 
The Man-of-the-Series award went to Aniket Desai, who drove away a Hero Extreme motorcycle. 
President of Goa Cricket Association, Chetan Desai and Deputy Speaker, Vishnu Wagh were the chief guests and gave away the prizes.
Ashendra Naik, president of Babu Brothers Sports Association welcomed while Sushant Shirodkar proposed the vote of thanks.
Brief score: Ghumteshwar Warriors, 168/7 in 20 overs. (Amar Arkas 34, Suraj Dongre 59, Suyash Prabhudesai 15, Noushad Shaikh 20, Prathamesh Salunke 10, Santosh Upadhye 10 not out. Akshay Darekar 4-29, Sagar Sawant 1-30, Amogh Desai 1-10, Deepraj Gaonkar 1-15) beat Badem SC, 138 all out in 19 overs (Amogh Desai 33, Aditya Suryavanshi 49, D Misal 18, Harshad Gadekar 13. Suyash Prabhudesai 5-24, Tushar Sawant 2-11, Santosh Upadhye 2-19, Prathamesh Salunke 1-39).
