GM Tejas Bakre in joint lead

PANJIM: Grandmaster Tejas Bakre (2511) of Gujarat is leading after the end of round four along with 11 others at All-India open FIDE rapid rating chess tournament, organized by Unique Chess Academy and Quepem Taluka Chess Association, at Sarvodaya High School hall, Curchorem, Saturday.
In the fourth round, Tejas beat Stanley Samson on the top board while Goa’s Rishubh Naik (1957) lost to IM MS Thejkumar(2451) of Karnataka), Sanjay (2320) of Karnataka defeated Vinodh Kumar B (1921), Arvind Shastry (2284) beat Nikam Ravindra(1936). International Master Rahul Shetty(2249) beat Pawan Katkade, WGM Aarthie Ramaswamy (2059) beat Vasant Naik (1694) and Meenakshi Subbaraman (2240) beat Shabdik Varma (1819), IM Sameer Kathmale beat Anirudh Bhat of Goa.
Among other Goan players Ritviz Parab (2149) beat Vishal Londe (1816), Shane Braganza (1707) beat Srinath Rao (2089). Rohan Ahuja (2056) beat Rathnavarma Bunnu (1676), Amogh Namshikar and Raghvendra V are following the leader with 3.5 points.
On Sunday, five more rounds will be played and the prize distribution function will be held at 5.30 p.m. 
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Vinay Tendulkar, President of Goa Chess Association in the presence of MLA Nilesh Cabral, Kishore Bandekar secretary of GCA, Sanjay Kavlekar Secretary of Quepem Taluka Chess Association and Sopan Kudchadkar of Unique Chess Academy and Narayan Sawant, Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council. Mrinalini Kudchadkar Headmistress of Sarvodaya High School was also present.
