Goa bag chess silver

PANJIM, NOV 17 Goa bagged a silver in U-17 boys chess in the 56th National School Games at Fatorda Stadium, Margao on Sunday. Goa had to settle for a silver though they were tied at the first position with nine points with Tamil Nadu having a better board score. The Goa team scored 15 points whereas TN scored 15.5 points.

Goa bagged a silver in U-17 boys chess in the 56th National School Games at Fatorda Stadium, Margao on Sunday.
Goa had to settle for a silver though they were tied at the first position with nine points with Tamil Nadu having a better board score. The Goa team scored 15 points whereas TN scored 15.5 points.
Anurag Mhamal got the best player on the 2nd board and Pranav Zantye got the best player on the 4th board. Their score was 4.5 points each out of five rounds.
Niraj Saripalli scored four points and Vipul Kulkarni scored two points.
Goa team: Anurag Mhamal (People’s HS, Panjim), Niraj Saripalli (Bhatikar Model HS, Margao), Pranav Zantye (Sharada Mandir, Mira Mar), Vipul Kuklkarni (People’s HS, Panjim), Saish Bandodkar (Mahila Nutan HS).
The team was coached by International Master Anup Deshmukh, Nagpur.
