PANJIM: Goa won the bronze medal on debut in team championship in both junior as well as senior 9th Acrobatic Gymnastics National Championship at Sangli recently.
In the junior group, Sailee Bakhale and Pranali Dhavalikar won silver medal in women’s pair, Vaibhav Nayakoji and Sahil Lohiya (men’s pair) and Satyajit Lohiya and Rutika Mahavar (mixed pair) won bronze medals.
Goa also got a bronze medal in team championship.
In senior group, Savita Shinde and Ashwini (women’s pair) won silver in combine, balance and dynamic exercises. Savita hinde, Ashwini Chavan and J. Shraddha (women’s) won silver medal in combine exercise and bronze medal in balance exercise. Daulsab Vatar and J. Shraddha (mixed pair) won bronze medals in combine, balance and dynamic exercises. In this group Goa got the bronze.
Overall Goa got five silver and nine bronze medals.
The team was accompanied by Satish Lohiya (men’s manager), Rajani Naik (women’s manager), Manohar Nayakoji, Yogesh Pawar (Mumbai) as coaches.
Abhit Velguekar (president), Jayawant H. (secretary) of Goa Gymnastics Association and Sudesh Thakur (secretary of Kreeda Bharatim Goa) congratulated the participants.
