With this defeat the Goan team bow out of the tournament.
The match started off at a fiery pace with either sides trying hard to make an impact in the early stages but the ball was mostly confined to the midfield.
Harsh Patre was fouled in the 2nd minute wherein the referee awarded a free-kick in favour of Goa but the 25 yard short by Harsh missed the target narrowly.
Two minutes later, a hand ball by Vellington gave the opponents their first free-kick wherein they scored directly from the set piece and Frevino Fernandes, the Goan keeper had just no chance to stop the ball from entering the nets, 0-1.
Although the Goan lads had the giant share of ball possession they failed to score in the first half.
The second half saw both sides going for the goal right from the kick off.
The Goan side managed to create many chances through Mevan and Nathan but their threats were timely cleared by the rival keeper.
The second goal arrived in the 34th minute when the defenders failed to mark the opponent striker who shot the ball in Goa’s net, 0-2. Down by two goals, desperate Goan outfit tried to go into the attack but failed to capitalize on their chances.
Goa had an opportunity in the 40th minute but a solo run by Richard was tackled by the defender in the penalty area. Goan players gave in their best but couldn’t get past the experienced back four of West Bengal.
Goa attacked till the last minute but failed to score.
