Soccer tourney at Navelim
MARGAO (HC) – Enfermos Sports Club, Sinquetim-Navelim will organise their All-Goa inter-village football tournament for Atlanta Georgia Trophy in May at Rosary ground,Navelim. It has been sponsored by Goans Boys of Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The winners will get Rs 30,000 while the runners-up will receive Rs 20,000. 3-a-side at Uguem
MARGAO (HC) – The Rising Stars of Uguem–Sanguem will organise their 6th All- Goa 3-a-side tie-breaker football tournament on May 8, opposite John Bar, Uguem at 7 p.m. Rs 13,000 and Rs 9,000 will be awarded to the winners and runners-up respectively. PANJIM (HSD) – Friends Circle, Fondegal will organise their 8th all-Goa 3-a-side football tie-breaker on May 8 near Maria Bar, Fondegal, Curtorim from 8 p.m. Rs 10,100 (winners) and Rs 8080 (runners-up) will be awarded.
GFA clubs registration
PANJIM (HSD) – The last date for submission of GFA registration and other forms for 2010-11 season is May 15. Clubs have been asked to submit forms alongwith fees.
SJFI convention in Goa
PANAJI (HSD) – The 34th National Convention of Sports Journalists’ Federation of India will be held in Goa from May 5 – 9 with the seminar on World Cup on May 7. Ex-Olympians S S Narayan, Fortunato Franco, Arjuna awardees Brahmanand Shankawalkar, Bruno Countinho will be the panelists. It will also discuss the future of Indian cricket (May 5), the Olympic Gold Quest project (May 6) and Indian rugby (May 8). Kiran More, Amol Muzumdar, Kishen Narsi, Viren Rasquinha will be among key speakers. Greg Davey, Development Manger, Rugby India will make a presentation on India’s preparations for the Commonwealth Games.
Queen’s Relay baton in Goa
PANJIM (HSD) – The Queen’s Baton relay will be held on September 7 and 8. It will arrive at Canacona on September 7 and it will be taken to Pernem on September 8.
