PANJIM: Margao Cricket Academy (Goa) defeated Kapoor CA by 55 runs on the opening day of the 2nd Late Bhikoo Pai Angle Memorial All-India tournament organised by Margao Cricket Youth Club, at Fatorda ground, on Monday.
MCA won the toss and elected to bat first. They managed to put up a score of 174 all down in 42.3 overs. Arnav Hunnarpatti scored 28 while Vaishak Nayar got 20 runs.
The Kapoor CA put in a formidable performance with Ashutosh ending with a bowling figure of 4-27 and Aman picked up 2 wickets off 35 runs.
In reply, Kapoor CA were bundled out for 119 in 32.3 overs despite Saikath heroics who scored a knock of 62. Dheeraj Gupta outclassed his opponents by picking 6 wickets of 23 runs.
At Agonda ground, Nasik Cricket Academy won by 109 runs against Satara Cricket Academy. A.Singh (101) and R. Matcha (86) were the stars with bat for the Nashik side.
Meanwhile, at Shiroda ground, CCI, Belgaum beat Narmada CA by a huge margin of 206 runs.
Dwarka CA showed no mercy as they defeated Denial CA by 242 runs after setting a target of 327/9 as they bundled their opponents out for just 85 runs at Curchorem ground.
