PORVORIM: Goa eves faced a 24-run defeat against Baroda in the Senior Women’s T20 League 2017-18, at GCA Academy ground, Porvorim, on Monday.
Batting first, Baroda scored 126 runs giving away five wickets. B D Surti top scored with 31 runs followed by P A Patel and Y H Bhatia (23 runs each) and Radha P Yadav 22. Shikha Pandey, Santoshi Rane, Yetrekar Sunanda, Nishigandha Manjarekar and Nikita Malik took one wicket each for Goa.
In reply, the hosts managed to score 102 giving away nine wickets. Bharati Gaonkar, who was in form with 24 runs, was unfortunately run out. Shikha Pandey (16) and Vinavi Gurav (14) were the other scores with two digits.
S R Sharma played a major role with the ball for the visitors by claiming three wickets, while N Y Patel took two. Tarannum Pathan and Mohite scalped one each.
