Goa goes down fighting to WB

MAPUSA: Goa goes down fighting to West Bengal by 2-1 margin in the Sub Junior Boys National Football Championship, held at Berhampore stadium, Bengal, here on Thursday.

In the first session both the teams came close to opening their accounts where Bengal’s Suvam Vowal strike kissed the upright, while Goa’s Messi Colaco shot went just past the crossbar.

On crossing over in the very second minute, Sahil SK scored off a corner while in the 59th minute he doubled the lead scoring from inside the 18-yard box. However Goa managed to pull a goal in the 92nd minute, when Clizer Noronha scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-1.
