Replying to Assam’s 247 all out, Goa were trailing with 57 runs with 8 wickets in hand
at stumps.
Amogh and SA Asnodkar’s 136-run partnership laid the foundation for Goa, with Asnodkar scoring 57 runs. Assam’s Syed Mohammad took the crucial wicket of Asnodkar who was in top form.
Medium pacer Harshad Gadekar was the pick of the Goa bowlers as he finished with figures of five for 33 to bowl out the hosts.
Jamaluddin Syed Mohammad had earlier in the day scored a century for Assam, his unbeaten 106-run knock giving his team’s total a semblance of respectability after most of the batsmen flopped after being sent into bat yesterday. Jamaluddin was batting on 90 overnight.
