PORVORIM: Goa Lions will clash with DY Patil in the final of Goa Corporate League organised by Goa Cricket Association, at GCA ground, on Saturday.
The final is slated on March 10 at 6.30 p.m.
In the first semi-final, DY Patil beat Tata Sports by 5 wickets .
DY Patil won the toss and elected to field. Tata Sports scored 172 for 5 in the alotted 20 overs. Ian Dev Chouhan was the top scorer of the innings with 46 runs off 34 balls followed by Kalpesh Sawant(33).The DY Patil bowlers put up a decent perfomance as Rishi Arothe picked up 2 wickets while Shashank Singh and Ripal Patel grabbed a wicket each.
In reply, DY Patil chased down the target with 9 balls to spare. Opener Prabhsimran Singh was the top scorer with 74 runs off 40 deliveries while Mandeep Singh (27) and Parth Sahani(21) also made decent contributions with the bat. The Tata Sports bowlers failed to restrict their opponents as Ankur Singh and Chirag Khurana grabbed 2 wickets each while Rohit Yadav picked up a wicket. Prabhsimran Singh was named the man-of-the-match.
In the second semi-final , Goa Lions beat ONGC by 2 wickets after chasing down a target of 179 runs with a ball to spare. Vaibhav Govekar was named man-of-the-match for 58 runs off 31 deliveries.
