Goa play goalless draw against Mizoram

AGENCIES, SHILLONG: Goa played out a goalless draw against Mizoram in the Dr BC Roy Trophy, in Shillong, on Tuesday.
Goa put up a strong defensive performance in the first half which saw the keeper Mahadev Gawade bring couple of good saves in the opening minutes of the game.
Goa almost took the lead at the half hour mark, but Velroy Cardozo’s brilliantly taken free-kick hit the upright and went out of the play. In the second half, Goa started brightly as coach Charles made some changes. Jovito came in for Aryan and Caine was replaced by Crespo. 
In the dying minutes of the game, Goa’s Jovito Fernandes tried his luck but his well taken shot hit the side post. Goa’s striker Salgeo Dias was brilliant upfront. Goa next play Uttar Pradesh on January 30.
