MARGAO: Goa recorded two victories in Vedanta’s National Masters Women’s Football Festival as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations at SVD ground, Raia, on Wednesday.
Goa beat Maharashtra 2-0 and Karnataka 4-1. Laura Estibeiro and Ritinha Pereira scored a goal in each half in the inaugural match while in the other match the highlight was a hat-trick by Laura Estibeiro with the other goal being scored by Julie. Nesa Kumari scored for Karnataka
In the other match, fancied Kerala were held to a goalless draw by Tamil Nadu. Later, Kerala and Maharashtra played a goalless draw.
Karnataka and Tamil Nadu also played a goalless draw in the last match of the day. The event was inaugurated by Savio Madeira, Head Coach Education, AIFF.
