Goa set for Games opening today: Gaude

PANJIM: Minster for Sports and Youth Affairs Govind Gaude held back-to-back marathon meetings with the organisers of the opening ceremony for the 37th edition of the National Games that is being scheduled for Thursday.

Speaking to mediapersons at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, where the inaugural ceremony will be held, Gaude said that they have finalised the programme for the events including minute details and were now set to host the event.

“The programme has been finalised in minute details and ‘frozen’. Everything has been finalised including the entry for the delegates, performers, artists, sportspersons, spectators etc and people. The gates and the arrangements have been finalised. It is my habit to ensure that everything is up to speed and then finalised so that we do not have to run around tomorrow,” Gaude said.
