PANJIM: The final selection of the Goa State Cross Country teams will be held at Athletic Stadium Bambolim, on January 6, at 3.30pm. The teams will participate in the 58th National Cross Country championship which will be held at Gaya, Bihar on January 15. The Cross Country teams will consist of men and women U-20, U-18, U-16 in boys and girls section. The men and women distance will be of 10 km with 6 runners in each team and U-20 boys girls team will consist of 6 runners and distance of 8 km with 6 runners of which 4 runners points will be counted for the prize list. In U-18 boys/girls, the distance will be of 6 km and for U-16 boys/girls the distance will be of 2 km in which only 2 athletes will participate in each section. The U-16 boys/girls should be born between January 16, 2008 and January 15, 2010 and U-18 boys/girls should be born in between January 16, 2006 and January 15, 2008. In the U-20 category, the athlete should be born in between January 16, 2004 and January 15, 2006. The Goa Athletic Association will depute all the teams for National Cross Country participation.
