Goa State U-11open & girls chess c’ship begins

PANJIM: The Goa State U-11 Open & Girls Chess Championship 2023 began on Saturday at Mahalaxmi Vachan Mandir Hall Mala Panjim. Tournament is being organised by Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association in aegis with Goa Chess Association and Mahalaxmi Vachan Mandir.

Tournament was inaugurated by making the first move over the board by Narayan Pednekar , Secretary Mahalaxmi Vachan Mandir in the presence of Dr Peter Carvalho , Dattram Pinge Arvind Mhamal, Sandesh Amonkar, Naresh Pednekar, Prakash Swawant, Pallavi Kakodkar and other office bearers of  TTCA .

At the end of the 3rd round, in the Open category, Rajveer Patil, Saras Powar, Aaryavrat Dessai, Rishit Gawas, Erwin Albuquerque, Ekang Malvankar, Joshua Telles, Aditya Ghadge, are in first position with 3 points while Abhir Prabhu, Samarth Kesaewani, Aarush Salgaonkar, Rhys Carvalho and Atharv Shirodker are in second position with 2.5 points.

In the girls category, Skyla Rodrigues, Shanaya Desai are in first position with 3 points while Tanisha Dessai, Diya Sawal, Navya Narvekar, Archi Katkar, Lyia Silveira, and Vidhi Naik are in 2nd position with 2.5 points.
