Goa suffer heavy defeat against Meghalaya

AGENCIES, KALYANI: Goa suffered a heavy 8-1 defeat to Meghalaya in the Hero Sub Junior Football Championship, at the Kalyani Stadium, Kolkata. 
Meghalaya were led 3-1 at half time.
Goa started in right earnest as off a Delmon cross, midfielder Aryan saw his effort going over the bar.
Meghalaya shot into the lead through Baniatyllilang who went past the onrushing Goa keeper Micky to put his team 1-0 up. 
Goa’s Aryan was once again the thick of action as he fed striker Topon with a good pass which was saved by the Meghalaya keeper Berith.
Meghalaya scored 2 quick goals through Daminot and Colinsalmon. 
Goa regrouped and reduced the margin through Rohan.
In the second half the fleet footed Meghalaya players pumped in five more goals. 
The score-line does not reflect the match played by Goa as they attacked vigorously but they were caught on the wrong foot on the counter attacks by the fleet footed Meghalaya players.
Goa will now take on Punjab in the last encounter on November 28.
