The Goa T20 Cricket Association which was formed in Margao held selection trials at Fatorda to select the Goa team for National T20 tournament to be held at Doda in Jammu and Kashmir from June 7.
However, GCA secretary Prasad Fatarpekar stated that they have nothing to do  with the newly formed body and that cricket players and coaches affiliated with GCA will be liable for disciplinary action if found participating in activities being conducted by the newly formed body.
Meanwhile, when contacted, Raju Jamadar, secretary, Goa T20 Cricket Association,  agreed that the association was an independent body and that it had no relation with the GCA. Jamadar added they were affiliated with the Federation of Indian T20 Cricket based at Patiala in Punjab and also recognised by US-based International T20 Cricket Federation. The association also claims they have been recognized by Indian T20 Cricket Federation as per the recognition letter issued by Federation secretary, Piyush Rane.
Asked about the selection trials on May 28, Sunil said there was a good response from the participants.
