Goa take on Kerala in beach football final

PANJIM: Goa registered a well deserved hard fought 7-5 win over Lakshaydeep to book their place into the final of the 37th National Games Beach Football held at Colva beach here on Tuesday.

It was Goa’s skipper Pedro Gonsalves who stole the limelight scoring four goals with Carl Joshua Vaz and Kashinath Rathod adding their names to the scorers list while for Lakshyadeep colts Mirshad and Aboohuraira netted a brace  and Mohammad Thari scored.

Speaking to Goa’s Head Coach Bruno Coutinho stated, this was the first time Beach Football was being introduced in the National Games and his boys are all excited to lay their hands on the Gold Medal, having won all four matches on the way to the finals.

Our boys have displayed tremendous consistency in the tournament and will go all out for a win against  National Champions Kerala, concluded Coutinho.
