MARGAO: A group of 25 women cyclists will be riding a 100-km distance, titled “Go Girls Go 100!” through some of the most scenic villages and beach belt of South Goa, on November 8.
This will be the first-ever 100km, all-women cycling ride in Goa, and is organised by the Margao-based Xaxti Riders.
“A Century ride is always special for self-confidence”, stated ride coordinator Binota Nadkarni.
“I am sure that this first-of-its-kind initiative by Xaxti Riders will not only encourage participants to push the limits but would inspire many other potential women cyclists,” she added.
The cycle ride will be flagged off from Margao at 5:30 a.m.
The riders will be treated with breakfast at halfway point. There will be Water Points at 30km and 75km each.
“Unlike other cycling challenges, ‘Go Girls Go 100!’ is absolutely free for the participants and we haven’t charged even for basic registration,” informed Nadkarni.
Due to a more-than-expected response and keeping in mind the ongoing Pandemic, Xaxti Riders had to restrict the ride participation to 25.
Xaxti Riders is a hugely-popular cycling club in South Goa. Over the years, it has built-up a sizeable biking community and has inspired a generation of young riders and cycling enthusiasts.
