Goa to field team in Senior Hockey

The 63rd Senior National Hockey Championship will be held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from July 4 to18.
The Indian Hockey Federation has invited the Association for Control of Hockey in Goa (ACHG) to field the Goa team for the championship.
The ACHG is in the process of selecting an 18-member squad for the State team. Goa will participate in the Nationals after a gap of over 20 years.
Twenty-eight teams from State units will be divided into eight pools and compete in Phase – I. Four semi-finalists from Phase – I will qualify for Phase – II where they will join 12 directly seeded teams.
Four semi-finalists from among the associate members will also qualify for Phase – II, thus taking the total participating teams to 20.
A total of 18 players and two officials will be selected to represent Goa.
The Association for Control of Hockey in Goa is an affiliated member of the Indian Hockey Association.
