PANJIM: Goa trail Assam by 178 runs with 10 wickets remaining in their second innings on the third day of their Group C Ranji Trophy cricket match at Goa Cricket Association Academy ground, Porvorim, on Friday.
Assam resumed their overnight score of 243/5 with a lead of 68 runs. Tarjinder Singh’s brilliant 119 not out of 305 saw Assam declare for 435/8 in the 166th over. He was well supported by Sayed Mohammed’s 69 as they put a 119 run partnership for the sixth wicket.
Amogh Desai (42) and Swapnil Asnodkar (47) gave Goa a perfect start as the host ended 82 for no loss at fall of stumps, trailing by 178 runs.
