PANJIM: Goa U-19 boys and the girls emerged champions of the 62nd National School Games Futsal Championship, held in Aurangabad and Maharashtra, on Thursday.
In the girls final, Goa defeated Delhi 3-1. Sushmita Jadhav, Anline Fernandes and Beverly Cardoso scored for Goa.
In the boys final, Goa thumped Maharashtra 7-1. Stendly Fernandes scored four goals while Cyrus Noronha netted a brace. Kunal Salgaokar and Savelon Cardozo scored a goal each. Somaaya Mukundan was awarded the best player in girls’ category while Stendly Fernandes won in the boys’ category.
