PANJIM: Goa University moved in to the third round of the West Zone Inter University Cricket Championship for women organised by Bharkatullah University, Bhopal, on Thursday.
Goa University defeated Bikaner university, Rajasthan by chasing down the score of 64 for no loss in just 9 overs. Goa’s Diksha Amonkar scored 26* (34) and Sindiya Naik contributed 21* (21) runs in their chase.
Bikaner University batting first could set a target of only 63 runs after a brilliant Goa’s bowling saw them bundled out in 18.3 overs in which Diksha Gaude took two wickets giving away just 10 runs.
Ciya Phaldesai also managed to get two wickets giving away 11 runs.
Sindiya Naik also took two wickets giving away just six runs and Shreya Parab gave away 21 runs taking 1 wicket.
In the first round, Goa registered a massive 342 run win against PDVS, Rajasthan. Goa, batting first, gave a target of 364/2 runs in 30 overs. Diksha Amonkar dominated by scoring 147* runs and Sindiya Naik also contributed with a century scoring 126 runs. PDVS could only score 23 runs as they were bowled out in just 9.5 overs.
