AGENCIES, GWALIOR: Goa University defeated LNIPE Gwalior 7-2 in the west zone inter-university men’s hockey championship, being held at LNIPE Gwalior, on Sunday.
In the first quarter, LNIPE scored two goals in second minute and 11th minutes.
In the second quarter again LNIPE dominated and scored two more goals in 17th minute and 20th minutes.
The third quarter also went in favor of LNIPE and they scored the fifth goal in 31st minute.
After the start of third quarter, Goa University defended well and restricted them from scoring more goals.
In the last quarter, Goa University planned for an attack and in 47th minute Kabir scored a goal for Goa University.
In the 53rd minute, LNIPE scored sixth goal on Goa University through a counter attack.
In the 56th minute, Akshay made a smart move and scored a goal for Goa University and at last in the 60th minute LNIPE scored a goal.
Out of the 42 teams, Goa University finished in the top for the first time.
