Goa University in semi-finals

PANJIM: Goa University defeated Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar 2-0 to move into the semi-finals of the All-India Inter University Football Championship for Men organized by University of Mumbai, at Marines Lines, Mumbai, on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half, Goa University Coach Siddesh Kesarkar and Manager Ryan Pereira planned an attacking strategy in the second half. 
Goa University had most of the possession and attacked the rivals goal and finally got the breakthrough in the 70th minute through a cool finish by Stephen Satarkar after a goal mouth melee.
Sachidanand Satelkar doubled the lead in the 82th minute after a fine assist by Devendra Murgaonkar. 
Guru Nanak Dev University tried their best to come back in the match, but the Goa University defence marshalled by Clive Miranda, Gaurav Vaigankar and company stood strong to negate all Guru Nanak Dev University attacks.
Now, Goa University will meet winner of University of Mumbai/Punjab University, Chandigarh  and  Punjabi University, Patiala will take on Kannur University, Kerala in the semi finals on December 27.
